Pink 5th Birthday

I have to thank Nat for helping me out with not just taking photos yesterday, but entertaining the little ones as well.

The thing with "two-dollar" shops is you have to consider the item's value. There are single cellophane gift bags and there are fabric reusable bags. Which is worthy?

Vanilla Cupcakes (with cream cheese frosting) done by Fau.
Please excuse the cake pops. They were done well by Fini until I tried my hands with the candy-melt coating. (Reminder to self: stick to props and deco).

My friend, Fildza couldn't have been more timely with her NY holiday trip so she got back with the pink m&ms for me.

I swear by drinks name-tags ever since I did them for the younger un's birthday picnic. No mix-ups.

Full view of the table should be something like this:

BUT it's missing the chalkboard. Was hijacked but Nat didn't notice when she shot it.

And what was I looking forward to the whole time:

The monstrous 6-layered Butter Cake with Buttercream Frosting baked by Fau (not just pretty but light and fluffy too. yums).

I'm a bit bummed out that I forgot to take a proper photo of the invitation card. This is all I have from my mobile device:

I decided to draw her has the ballerina to talk her out of a cartoon-character themed birthday and she was sold.

Fini's 2011 Birthday

The FFFs (Fini, Fida, Fad) are my three workmates who I muck around with so without realising, celebrating each others' birthday at work turned into a tradition. Yesterday we had an excuse to have another lunchtime picnic for Fini's birthday celebration.

2011 Fini-Day - Table

I adore tiered serving plates but I didn't adore the idea of lugging the one I have at home, to work. I'm not sure if anyone did this before but I figured I could achieve the tiered-effect with the disposables we have at work. Only thing, we didn't have a bigger plate for bottom tier but it worked pretty okay (for now) and I would definitely apply the same trick again next time.

2011 Fini-Day - Speech Bubb

I guessed she might like what we were doing for her so I had these speech-bubble cards done way earlier. So yah.. putting words in her mouth hands.

When you have a knack for rustic, raw and unpolished look + been looking at too many wedding blogs = you dress milk tin cans with lace ribbons. I don't know much about flowers but they sure make anything look pretty.
